Delorme PN-40 For The Best in Handheld GPS

Maps and Topographic Coverage

Aside from the US topographic maps, the DelormePN-40 also has other types of maps available (which you can get by purchasing and annual subscription) such as hi-res aerial photography, NOAA marine charts, satellite imagery and USGS topographic maps.  Another plus are the hybrid maps which is an aerial image superimposed on a vector based map so you get twice as much information in one imagery.  Map details are so comprehensive it displays U.S. trails, land cover, even boat ramps and hunting spots.

Other Features

The onscreen display is crisp and vivid but if Delorme comes out with another model I suggest making the screen bigger for better view and wider area coverage.  Also, with the DelormePN-40, you don’t have to worry about the glare of the sun or the lack of light, because the device adjusts according to the lighting condition so you will be able to see all details under different conditions.  This device is also waterproof so you don’t have to worry about accidentally dropping it in the water especially when kayaking or driving a motor boat.

With all the improved features, you don’t have to think twice about purchasing the Delorme PN-40.  The great performance plus the added maps means you won’t have to ask for directions ever again.  And when you’re outdoors, you can just focus on the beautiful scenery and never have to worry about getting lost.
